Academic programmes at IIIT are designed to enable growth and learning in a highly focussed and application-based environment. This is achieved through a combination of formal lectures and hands-on experience in well equipped laboratories and through project activity, which will equip students to design and operate high-end computing systems.

The Institute offers courses at all levels - undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral. By the year 2007 the Institute is expected to have more than 1250 students on its rolls in various courses.

At present, the institute offers a 4-year B.Tech and 5-year Integrated B.Tech and M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering in addition to 2 Year M.Tech, M.S. And Ph. D programmes. The institute has intense course work supported by a flexible curriculum. The curriculum moulds itself to the needs of individual students. This means that you are not bound by rules that dictate what courses to take at what time. If you come in with a specific goal in mind, you are free to chose a sequence of courses that would be optimal in realisation of your aim.
